Restorative Yoga & Crystal Meditation Workshop

Group Workshop with Jeanie Hay Sternbach, E-RYT. Sliding scale of $27-$33.

There is magic when people gather with the shared intention of healing. There is power in the act of appreciating and connecting with the natural world. There is love in the earth. There is wellness is the water and peace in the air. When we create space for our own self care, we create space to offer care to others. When we heal ourselves, we heal the world.

Take some time for deep relaxation and healing with the support of Crystals. We will share space together for release and and renewal of our inner resources. Breathe deep and allow yourself to be supported. Crystals are our high vibration allies and each stone carries its own particular energy of healing, activating those same qualities within us. We will practice long held, gentle poses combined with guided crystal meditations for healing. Restorative Yoga is accessible for anyone, and enjoyable for all. Wear loose, comfortable clothing.

Bring a yoga mat and cozy blankets if you have them. If not, we will provide.

Yoga Therapy Workshop - Irene Bright-Dumm

Calm Within Chaos: A Yoga Therapy Workshop for Mental-Emotional Wellness and Stress Management
$30 in advance/$35 day-of registration.

When summer kicks into gear, is it hard for you to maintain a self-care routine?

Do you experience frustration, difficulty concentrating, emotional tension, or even anger on a regular basis?

Do you ever feel like you can't relax when you finally do find time to go to the beach, walk through the woods, or spend time with loved ones?

Just like we have hygiene routines to keep our physical bodies healthy, we need the same kind of hygiene to keep our thoughts and feelings functioning healthfully. This can be challenging when we get extra busy or stressed, or take on extra energy around us.

I know myself, from years of experience, that it's hard to keep up with self-care the way you intend to, want to, or think you "should" as summer becomes more and more energetic. The heightened state of the island scoops you up, but if you're not careful, can lead to feeling depleted, disconnected, and like you can't enjoy the beauty all around you.

In this two hour workshop we will explore the subtler, smaller practices that can make a HUGE difference in self-regulation and mental-emotional hygiene when a "full" 60-90-minute practice, making it to class, or any semblance of your "normal" self-care routine is out of the question.

In this workshop we will:

-Learn how to evaluate our needs through the lens of the vayus, or winds, that govern your energy body

-Understand the physical, mental, and emotional markers of vayus getting thrown out of balance

-Establish simple toolsets to bring ourselves back to balance when we notice stress and friction arising.

Everyone will go home with:

-A short morning practice

-A short evening practice

-Tricks to use amidst times of heightened activity (like your 16-hour work day)

-Access to a recording of the workshop, so you can revisit the material later

Practicing since she was 12 and teaching since 2012, Irene Bright-Dumm holds a master's degree in Yoga Therapy, is Certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher and Continuing Education Provider with Yoga Alliance. In her work as a yoga therapist, Irene specializes in chronic conditions and healing underlying traumas.

Through all of her offerings, Irene empowers students with accessible tools for tapping into their own capacity for healing and dynamic balance. She believes in the power of a well-rounded yoga practice to ripple both inward and outward for well-rounded personal and collective healing as a way of being.

GST - Lisa Gross

$20/class. Through traction, floor sequences and flow, GST or Graceful Somatic Technique focuses on the integration of the whole body using somatic self-manipulation of fascia to create a strong resilient and dynamic body. GST challenges students to work beyond their perceived limits and discover their own internal physicality. Injury prevention and rehabilitation are embedded into the fabric of the technique. GST is for all body types, ages and levels of expertise and anyone who wants to add another dimension to their healthy lifestyle.

Lisa studied Pilates for 12 years and is a long-time practitioner of Yoga. She discovered GST five years ago in Los Angeles, and trained under the tutelage of Anna Rahe, the founder and creator of GST. Lisa is now a certified instructor and is grateful and excited to bring this transformative technique to the Vineyard. Email: info@gstbodymarthasvineyard.com
