Yoga Nidra: Sleep Yoga

Yoga Nidra: Sleep Yoga

Yoga Nidra - Sleep Yoga

Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation into a state of deep yogic sleep where you float with consciousness. Between sleeping and waking states of being. In this practice, your body will be completely relaxed, either laying on the back or in a supported position with props as you may desire. As we move through the practice I will guide you through 5 layers of being, the physical body, the mental body, the breath body, the witness body and bliss body. For those who will be practicing sleep yoga for the first time, think of the practice as a relaxing body scan you might do in a traditional yoga class during savasana and then apply that not only to the physical body but to the other four bodies, scanning the mind and breath, finding awareness and witnessing the interplay between the mind body and breath, and finally reminding ourselves of light, love and bliss to help heal and dissolve held tension in our being.

- $20/Person Drop-In*

*$18 Drop-Ins if you bring any amount of non-perishable food items for donation to the Island Food Pantry.

- 5 Class Pack - $80

Studies have shown that yoga nidra helps to balance the autonomic nervous system which can help with regulation and reaction to stress. In additions favorable changes in Heart Rate Variability were shown when practicing yoga nidra*. Please reach out to me via Instagram or Facebook @yogijay or via email @yogijay.mv@gmail.com for any other questions on the practice.

Yoga Nidra: Sleep Yoga
Aug

8:00 PM20:00

Honor yourself, make time for a moment of relaxation!

Yoga Nidra: Sleep Yoga
Aug
26
8:00 PM20:00

Honor yourself, make time for a moment of relaxation!

Intensive Writing Workshop with Talia

4:00 PM16:00

Intensive Writing Workshop with Talia

Intensive Writing Workshop with Talia, focusing on telling our story through intuitive writing. In this intensive 2 hour writing workshop we will begin by doing some simple movements & energy clearing techniques to help facilitate us in settling in to our bodies & the present moment. You will then be guided with a series of intuitive writing prompts, carefully created by me, focusing on your “story” and whatever that may be or mean to you at this time in your life. There are many times in life when we may be asked to “tell our story” and whatever that is will change for you depending on where you are in any given moment in your lifetime. This workshop is meant to help you figure out which parts of your story you wish to look at and why.

This time is yours & there will be an option to share your writing after each prompt, but there is no requirement to do so. What you do with your writing after the workshop is up to you, but it is my hope that this workshop will be a catalyst for you to delve deeper into the stories you wish to tell about yourself.

We will end our time together with a brief guided meditation. Please bring something to write on, such as a journal or note pad, a writing utensil & an open mind. No prior writing experience is necessary.

Cost: $30 per person

Talia Luening was born and raised here on Martha’s Vineyard, making her a true “islander.” Of the many things Talia enjoys doing, writing has always been a constant, and has served as a beloved tool for her in her own healing journey throughout her lifetime. With a BA in Human Development, an extensive background in Early Childhood Education, a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training, and countless writing workshops under her belt, Talia is more than equipped to guide others on their path to healing through writing and self inquiry.

More about Kundalini Yoga

It is a Raj Yoga, encompassing the eight limbs of yoga into a singular practice of excellence and ecstasy. In any class you can expect six major components: 1) tuning in with the Adi Mantra, 2) pranayama or warm up, 3) kriya, 4) relaxation, 5) meditation and 6) closing with the blessing song “ May the Long Time Sun Shine Upon You”. Kriyas are perfectly designed sets of exercises meant to produce predictable and subtle impacts on the total Self. Mantra and Meditation cleanse the mind and bring us to an experience of our own Soul and our Divinity. The practice is a safe way to stimulate the body’s natural resources to become happy, healthy and holy- to establish an aligned relationship between body, mind, and spirit.

Take some time for deep relaxation and healing with the support of Crystals. We will share space together for release and and renewal of our inner resources. Breathe deep and allow yourself to be supported. Crystals are our high vibration allies and each stone carries its own particular energy of healing, activating those same qualities within us. Yin-Yang Yoga

Yin-Yang Yoga is a two part practice bringing together a series of passive and active postures sewn together with breath to open, restore and awaken the mind and body. For the first part of practice I will guide you through a series of yin postures, integrating deep breathing with the intention of slowly working into the body to restore deep connective tissue. Upon completion of the yin series, the practice will transform and evolve into a series of active flowing postures where we will focus on strengthening and lengthening the body while waking the mind and preparing for the day. This practice is accessible for all level practitioners and I will happily provide variations and modifications to the practice as needed to accommodate all body types.

Please reach out to Jason via Instagram or Facebook @yogijay or via email @yogijay.mv@gmail.com for any other questions on the practice.
